MINISTRY ANALIZES WETLANDS IN KETANE

Mohale’s Hoek, April. 10– The District Environmental Officer in the Ministry of Forestry and Environment Mr Relebohile Ramokatsi says they have been to Ketane to asses the state of wetlands following heavy rainfalls.

Mr. Ramokoatsi stated this in an interview with the Agency, by noting that as the overseer of environment in the country, the ministry is offering technical expertise to Qhoasing Community Council which is making preparations for the wetlands to be fenced to protect them from animals.

He further articulated that they also analysed the size of the wetlands, the ecosystem services  and the economic evaluation, noting the community would directly benefit from the wetlands as the source of water supply to Lesokoaneng river which supplies Qhoasing followed by Ketane and lastly to Senqu river… MM/BM
