DDMT SENSITIZED ON URBAN PREPAREDNESS PROJECT 

Leribe, Sept. 20 — With the purpose of aligning with appropriate measures in relation to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) Leribe is sensitized on Urban Preparedness at a one-day workshop Hlotse in Leribe on Wednesday.

Addressing DDMT Leribe, Disaster Management Authority (DMA) representative Ms. Ts’epang Manama said since Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020 it was identified that there are numerous ways in which people view DRR issues especially in the Urban areas.

“The pandemic forced us to find ways in dealing with response to it,” she stated.

Amongst those to be discussed, Manama highlighted coordination as Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) 1, Accessing vulnerability as SOP 2 and Cash Base Transfer as SOP 3.
