Maseru, Oct. 02— The defence in a case in which nine members of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) including Former Army Commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli,are charged with the murder of Maaparankoe Mahao, have requested for postponement of the case in other to allow them to secure witnesses.
The request was made after the court dismissed their application for discharge and called the accused to enter their defence.
Advocate Silas Ratau, one of the defence lawyers, stated that the accused intend to call witnesses before they take the stand to testify in their own defence. He however said such witnesses are currently unavailable, hence the request for the postponement.
Another defence lawyer Attorney Qhalehang Letsika pointed out that the postponement will also assist the defence to further consult in preparation for presenting their case.
The request was not challenged by the prosecution and the court accordingly granted the postponement. The case is therefore expected to continue from January 12-30 2026…
