DISSOLVED BOARD LOSES BATTLE   

   

Maseru, Feb.04—A dissolved Board of Directors of the Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) has lost a legal battle against the Minister of Energy as the High Court on Tuesday dismissed with costs, a case in which the members challenged their dismissal. 

 The applicants had initially approached the court after they were on August 27 2024 each served with show cause letters from the Minister of Energy indicating that they should show cause why the board cannot be dissolved on August 29 2024. 

 They were later removed as board members and new members appointed. While the court was yet to make its determination in the application in which they sought to preserve their status quo, the Minister dissolved the board and appointed the new board members.
