Quthing, Nov. 10 – The Quthing District is currently awaiting the Roads Directorate to construct a temporary crossing following the disaster of the amoco culvert at Mochotoane stream.
The culvert, located along the road connecting Quthing town and Mount Moorosi, was destroyed on Sunday afternoon following heavy rain experienced in the district.
Quthing District Administrator (DA) Mr. Bonang Tlali confirmed in an interview with the Agency that the incident was reported to the Department of Public Works, which has promised to begin addressing the issue on Monday.
District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr. Makarant’si Mohlapiso expressed concern over the damaged crossing, noting that five health clinics rely on access across Mochotoane to refer patients to the district government hospital.
Inspector Joele Joele of the Quthing Police Station stated that road signs have been placed to prevent drivers from using the damaged road.
