DISTRICT COUNCIL CONTINUES ROAD REHABILITATION EFFORTS

Botha-Bothe, Dec. 27 — The Botha-Bothe District Council is diligently working on rehabilitating roads in the district with the annual M10 million allocated to councils.

In an interview with the Agency, District Council Secretary Mr. Mathulise Mathulise stated that the current project involves the rehabilitation of the 24-kilometre-long Mopeli Khapung road. The project is expected to take three years to complete, with a projected finish date of 2025/26.

“One of the major challenges delaying road rehabilitation is the frequent breakdowns of machinery,” he explained. “If the district had three sets of machinery, it would significantly speed up the process. Currently, we often experience delays of two to three months because the machines break down and require repairs.” . .
