DMA WARNS PUBLIC ON OVERFLOW OF SENQU

Quthing, Jan. 13 — The Quthing District Disaster Management Manager Ms. Ts’epang Maama has warned the public from villages along Senqu river in the Quthing district to be cautious on the ongoing overflow of the Senqu river and keep away from the river for their safety.

Ms. Maama said people more prone to accidents likely to be caused by overflow of Senqu River are those from various villages and areas in three (3) Councils of Quthing; namely Mphaki and Telle community councils, and Quthing Urban Council.

She highlighted the overflow of Senqu River will regularly be above normal during the season due to water pressure release at Katse dam. . .
