MASERU – The Chief Justice Sakoane Sakoane says, a roll call on cases that were allocated to two former Judges have been postponed pending finalisation of a lawsuit against him.
He said this at the High Court on Monday, following return from winter break, when the court was meant to present an opportunity to take a step into restoring the public trust in the justice system as well as retain the image of the judiciary in the country.
“Do not despair, irrespective of that case outcome, but you will still get Justice even though the most painful part is that this will cause delay in justice as well as incurring more expenses on the side of litigants”.
According to Chief Justice Sakoane, he had initially taken a decision to start from the beginning all cases which were handled by the said judges (the Retired Justice Ts’eliso Monapathi and Justice Keketso Moahloli who resigned) following communication with them, reminding them that the Constitution forces them to finish those cases but to no avail..AM/BM
