FARMERS TO SHOWCASE PRODUCE AT QUTHING MARKET DAY

Quthing, Mar.25 – In an effort to promote agricultural products and services, the Smallholder Agriculture Development Project (SADP) II, through the Department of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition, will host a market day this Friday at Lower Moyeni.

SADP II Project Officer in Quthing, Mrs. Makhotso Malibeng, said the event aims to connect farmers from different Agricultural Resource Centres within the district with potential buyers, while also increasing opportunities for marketing their produce.

She explained that although farmers are encouraged to increase production, there is a need to support them in accessing reliable markets.

“This platform will not only help farmers sell their products, but will also allow them to build networks with buyers from different sectors,” she said.

Mrs. Malibeng added that the initiative forms part of SADP II’s mandate to enhance agricultural productivity by supporting farmers in adopting improved and quality production practices.

Quthing has six Agricultural Resource Centres, namely Mphaki, Makoae, Tlatlametsi, Koali, Qomoqomong and Tele.
