Maseru, Aug. 24 — The youth attending Creative Challenge 2026 Agenda – Sebopi-UniPod have been advised to be activists against Gender – Based Violence, Substance Abuse and Mental Heath through Creativity.
This was said by Lerotholi Polytechnic (LP) Rector, Professor Tlali Sepiriti when welcoming the youth at the Sebopi-UniPod Creative Challenge 2026 Agenda currently going on in Maseru on Monday.
According to the academia, it takes youth as future leaders to stand firm in the fight against gender based violence, substance abuse and mental health amongst others.
He said the theme for this year is meant to provide the youth an enabling environment to showcase youth-led creative entries that raise awareness, inspire dialogue and promote solutions around the aforementioned theme with the objective to protect the wellbeing of the youth.
This he added is to be showcased through talent, expressions of hope coupled with creative so that positively youth are inspired to change for the betterment of their health.
In the same vein, Vice Chancellor Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), Advocate Tefo Macheli alluded that it is time communication channels are used creatively to ensure that sensitive matters are communicated so that the youth can understand challenges of space they live in aligned to the theme.
On behalf of sponsors, Ms. Mots’elisi Phakisi, Assistant Representative United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) said the theme hits hard to the youth.
“The mostly affected in this regard are the youth, the reason this challenge is well designed as even teenage pregnacies emanates from such factors.”
Meanwhile, the youth are showcasing their potential, their creative ideas on how best the theme relates to what is happening on the ground.
One of the participants, Ntsu Ralits’oele stated that he is appreciative that amongst others, he is partaking in this initiative saying voices of the youth matter and through this, lives of the youth shall be touched positively.
This is an annual event supported financially and otherwise by United Nations family otherwise United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and LP including gaining LUCT support as well as the private sector.
