Maseru, March. 21 – The Matrix Support Group known as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) Executive Director says alleviating hate speech is vital as they insinuate hate crimes.
Hate crime is said to be motivated by bias against sexual orientation or gender, that is it involves a standard offence with an added element of bias against a victim because of other physical appearance or perceived membership of certain group as according to UN.
Tampose Jacobina Mothopeng said this when presenting on understanding hate crimes and their impact during a one day workshop for Senators held in Maseru on Friday.
Mothopeng made an example of USA President Donald Trump statement recently, where he said one is either male or female and that sex remains unchangeable. . .
