FOOD DISTRIBUTION COMMENCES 

Qacha’s Nek, Jan.15 — The district Disaster Management Authority (DMA) Disaster Manager, ‘Mats’itso Motemekoane has today handed over grains to Kampong distribution point residents.

The 17 metric tons of wheat which is equivalent to 18882 kg and 37 metric tons of rice which is equivalent to 37782 kg were donated to Lesotho by China and they will be distributed to twelve distribution points.

In an interview with the Agency, Mrs. Motemekoane said the food will be allocated to twelve villages within Kampong (urban areas) and each of the 402 beneficiaries will get 25kg of rice and 12.5 wheat.

She said this follows the Intergrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) revelation that people living in urban areas in the mountains are severely affected by food insecurity. . .
