FORMER ACCOUNTANT GENERAL COMMENDS GOVERNMENT

Maseru, May. 17 — The Former Accountant General, Mr. Sam Mphaka says the government must be commended for injecting the money back to the economy.

He said this in an interview with the Agency in relation to the government having set aside M100,104.160.00 million for productive work. This formed part of the statement by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Limpho Tau about the current state of hunger in the country last week.

Mr. Mphaka who is also reported to have wealth experience in taxation hence formation of PKF Services, explained that tax must come back to the economy, indicating the fact that people would be engaged in prevention of soil erosion projects, as well as roads maintenance while getting money in return is an economic activity.

“Tax must come back to the economy and this is one way of injecting back the money to the economy,” he stressed.
