FOUR BOYS AWAITING TRIAL FOR SEXUAL OFFENCE

Maseru, Feb. 14 — At least four boys are awaiting trial for being suspected to have committed sexual offences in all the Correctional institutions countrywide.

This was revealed by Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) Paralegal Chief Officer Bokang Ramotena in her weekly reports dating from February 05 to 09 this year and announced on Thursday.

She said out of the 59 inmates awaiting trial, there are also seven men who are also suspected to have committed the sexual offence and are yet to be sentenced.

Chief Officer Ramotena also said there are a total of 17 inmates who are awaiting trial for murder while nine are facing charges of attempted murder.
