FRISCO DIES

Maseru, May 28 — The former Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), Mr. Tséliso ‘Frisco’  Khomari met his untimely death on Wednesday.

‘Frisco’ is known locally and regionally for his long standing and adaptable career in the country’s soccer scene as well as sports administration, broadcasting and course government.

Family, friends and in the sports fraternity have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family, government and the entire sports family whom they say lost a ‘superstar.’

Speaking with the Agency on Thursday morning, Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) President, Mr. Baba Malephane indicated with a heavy heart that he visited Mr. Khomari’s family after hearing of the tragic loss of his mentor who lost his life due to a car accident on Wednesday.

“All the achievements I have attained in this industry was through the guidance of the late Khomari and of course my mentor in sports,” he said.

He mentioned that the deceased together with the late LeFA President, Mr. Thabo Makakole in those years worked very hard as passionate sports administrators to ensure that the association has Bambatha Sports Arena while also uplifting the national team to a point that Lesotho was able to participate in COSAFA finals.

Additionally, he alluded that ‘Frisco’ who was also LeFA Vice President and Secretary General at some point was a wise man who successfully groomed those who took his advice.

Meanwhile, Former Lesotho Today editor, Mr. Rantsubise Matete said the deceased will be remembered as a superstar adding he did not shine in Lesotho only but also raised Lesotho’s flag high when he was with Bloemfontein Celtic as a player.

He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the entire nation as he has touched the lives of many in various ways.

The Agency has further established that the deceased was not only active in football but has also been active in politics as well.
