Maseru, Jan. 04 — Director for Migrant Workers Association of Lesotho Mr. Lerato Nkhetše says it is high time that the government takes issues of migration very seriously for the benefit of Basotho as well as maintaining good relations between South Africa and Lesotho.
He said this in an interview on Saturday where he said that migration issues should no longer be dealt with on political level but on technical level with required merits as well.
He said that like South Africa, Lesotho has to have a team of experts to deal with migration issues saying that failing which the ill treatment that Basotho encounter in the neighbouring country and at ports of entry will continue for years to come.
He highlighted that South Africa has its own policies and laws which all should abide by despite being the only neighbour therefore he said that there has to be a national forum where as the country they would review where they have gone wrong and try to rectify that for smooth migration of Basotho.
