Maseru, Aug. 18 — In celebration of their feast, St. Mary Magdalene Guild planted a tree at St. Mary and St. James Cathedral of the Anglican Church of Lesotho (ACL).
Planting of this tree comes a few days after Cabinet through Public Works Minister, Mr. Matjato Moteane pronounced its status on keeping the environment green by planting trees across the country naming it ‘Green Fridays.’
Therefore, a member of the guild, Mrs. ‘Mamoletsane Moletsane mentioned planting of this tree, signals their commitment to maintaining a green environment as well as to stand in solidarity in building their guild.
She explained that the event is meant to celebrate their annual feast in honouring a prominent figure in the Bible known as Mary Magdalene, whom their guild is named after.
