HEALTH WORKERS TO STRIKE

Qacha’s Nek, Aug.17 — Health Workers Representative, Mr. Tanki Ranthimo, says health
workers from Qacha’s Nek, Mokhotlong and Thaba-Tseka will down tools from August 19,
2023.
The indefinite strike follows the demand for a mountain allowance increase from M275 to
M5000.
In an interview with the Agency, Mr Ranthimo said they will down tools but they will attend
emergencies only adding that this follows a series of events as in July 2022, they wrote to the
Ministry of Health (MoH) requesting mountain allowance increment.
