HEAVY RAINS LEAVE COMMUNITY IN DESPAIR

Maseru, Jan. 14 — Heavy rains which the country has experienced in the last two days have washed away the temporary bridge at Litenteng, Roma thus leaving the community in despair.

In December 2020, the access bridge connecting Litenteng and other villages on the other side of the river collapsed due to heavy rains and the villagers made a temporary structure while awaiting the government to construct the access bridge.

The temporary bridge that was eroded away on Monday is the second one as the first one collapsed in December 2023 during heavy rains.

The structure is made of available materials like poles made from trees from the forest, cement and corrugated iron sheets.
