HEAVY SNOWFALL DISRUPTS POWER, DAILY LIFE IN QACHA’S NEK

Qacha’s Nek, Sept. 23 — The Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) has launched efforts to repair electricity distribution lines damaged in multiple areas, including FTC, Police Line, Motse-mocha, and Leropong.

The damage follows a two-day snowfall that blanketed Qacha’s Nek from Friday, September 20, into Saturday, as forecasted by the Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS).

Mr. Ts’epo Sechoala, the LEC official in Qacha’s Nek, explained that falling branches caused by the weight of snow broke the power lines. . . .
