SNOW KILLS LIVESTOCK IN QUTHING 

Quthing,  Sept.  23 — Heavy snow experienced in the district is reported to have killed small and large livestock in different cattle posts and  some villages in various areas of Quthing.

The Quthing District Administrator, Mr. Bonang Tlali told the Agency in an interview that more than 500 sheep and goats comprise lambs and kids are reported to have died at some areas and cattle posts in Mjanyane and Mphaki community councils due to heavy snowfall experience from Thursday until Saturday.

He highlighted that preparations are in progress for the District Disaster Management Team members to collect data of dead livestock that comprise of sheep, goats and cattle including of the affected farmers.

The DA appealed to the community Councilors and Chiefs to work hand in hand to provide his office with information regarding livestock that died due to snow and other cases in which heavy rains and snow have destroyed developments and houses.
