Quthing, Oct. 26 — More than ninety (90) ederly persons persons from different areas of Quthing district gathered at Upper Moyeni to celebrate International Day of Elderly Persons on Saturday this week.
The celebration on the theme ‘The part we play: Celebrating the integral role opf older persons in our communities ‘ was dignified with among others; dances by some elderly persons and speeches in which they share shared their challenges and the way they would like to be provided with different services as elderly persons.
The event has been organized by district department of Gender, Youth and Social Development in partnership with Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) Quthing Division in an effort to appreciate elderly people in the district since they are wealth of knowledge and experience in the society.
