Thaba Tseka Jun 04 – Herders say living in cattle posts is challenging, as they have to handle everything from cooking to taking care of the livestock.
This they stated in an interview with the Agency on Wednesday, when asked what living alone in the cattle post is like.
They continued to express that eating properly is challenging, as there are times when they don’t have any relish and are left to eat only pap with coarse salt.
They also mentioned that sometimes their bosses don’t provide them with relish and expect them to rely on bobatsi, which grows near their cattle posts.
In an interview with Makhaola Bonakele, a 22-year-old from the Thaba Moea cattle posts, he mentioned that to survive in that environment, one must adapt to the living conditions and learn to conserve whatever resources they have to last throughout the month. . . .
