Maseru, Feb. 11 — Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) held a Tax Symposium at Victory Hall on Tuesday, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss pressing issues in the realm of tax tariffs and global trade agreements.
The symposium aimed at addressing the complexities of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification and the National Trade Strategy 2021-2025.
According to Thapelo ‘Moleli, acting senior manager for customs advisory services at RSL, the symposium sought to encourage better compliance with trade regulations, promote exports, and reduce processing times for Lesotho’s exports in South African ports.
One of the major concerns raised during the discussion was the inefficiency of customs procedures, including phytosanitary inspections and controls, which hinders export development. . . .
