Berea, Feb. 11 – – A group of over 20 elderly people have united to exercise at Thakaneng Youth Resource Centre gym to act on their physical and control their mental health.
In an interview with the Agency on Tuesday, the Coach Katleho Sekhoahla said she was inspired by one of the retired teachers who begged her to consider opening a gym for elderly people.
Coach Sekhoahla said the motive behind the gym is to maintain a healthy lifestyle and refresh the mind. She said most elders are there because of their sickness, indicating that some joints were paralysed but they can now move their parts of the body.
She said elders do face discrimination as a cultural domination challenge but she always tells them to put their health first. “Look at the mirror, ask yourself what you want and bring your positive spirit”. . .
