Maseru, Aug. 08 — In a surge to treat Tuberculosis (TB) from childhood, the Ministry of Health has held a training of Trainers on Childhood TB supported by the Africa Centre for Disease Control (CDC). The training was held in Maseru from Monday.
In an interview with Dr. Llang Maama from the ministry, she said the reason to have this kind of training is to equip their staff with advanced ways in which can be applied to diagnose TB in children.
She noted that children are one population that is left behind when it comes to many contagious diseases and recent research has shown that TB among children is real, though its symptoms are hard to pin down.
Dr. Maama went further to indicate that with the training, they are hopeful that TB in children will be diagnosed at an early stage and be treated in time.
