Maseru, Aug. 10 — The Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) has issued a statement dissociating itself from the Maseru Community Cup Tournament scheduled to take place at Bambatha Tsita Sports Arena in Maseru.
They stated that they were informed about the Tournament while the preparations were already at an advanced stage. They insist that they were not made part of the arrangements of the Tournament. They added that the correct procedure to license the Tournament was not followed by the Tournament Coordinators.
The PLMC further added that permission to use the Premier League Clubs for the Tournament was never sought and granted. They said they therefore dissociate themselves from any concerns that are or may arise in relation to this Tournament.
They indicated that the organisers of the Tournament only informed them about the event on Tuesday this week (August 06 2024). They indicated that the information was that the competition is under the Nthomeng Majara Foundation sponsored by Econet Telecom Lesotho and Molefi Global Agency.
They added that it also included that the games will be held at Bambatha Tsita Sports Arena on Sunday (August 11 2024).
The Maseru Community Cup was officially launched on July 22 2024 and Football Clubs to take part are Bantu FC, Linare FC, Lioli FC and Matlama FC.
