Beijing, Sept. 28 — In the wake of digital technology, China Global Television Network (CGTN), Director of New Media Department, Ms. Zhang Shilei has strongly encouraged journalists from global south countries to redefine themselves in the media landscape driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This emerged during the interactive session themed, “Looking at tomorrow-the reconstruction of global communication order in the age of AI”, held at Beijing on Sunday.
Ms. Shilei highlighted that lately traditional media are losing value as people have shifted their attention to the information they access from the social media contents, the majority of which is generated by the AI.
She urged journalists reimagine life in the next three to five years to come whether the traditional media will exist since AI can do everything, while also the technology giants no longer provide news to the media, but they prefer to post some updates on their websites and even their own televisions, hence people will definitely believe and follow them on their social media platform.
