Maseru, July 06 — Following the national outcry about the King’s birthday cake, the National Ceremony Committee under the Ministry of Local Government , Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police held the cake competition in Maseru on Saturday.
The competition, which brought together seven competitors from all the districts of the country, is intended to ensure that the King’s birthday cake looks captivative as most of Basotho had over the years been unsatisfied with how the King’s birthday cake looked.
In an interview with the Agency, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer Mrs. Marelebohile Mothibeli said 17 Basotho nationals applied for the competition and eight were successful, saying out of this number, one declined on the date of the competition thus seven participants will be competing…
