KOELE ENGAGES WITH TAXI OPERATORS

Mohale’s Hoek, Aug.01 — The Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Mrs. Ts’epang Koele has held a meeting with taxi operators in Ketane to Kori route, following their three day go-slow against the terrible state of the gravel roads in that area.

Mrs. Koele who asserted that the Ministry currently has about 148 projects which need to their attention, assured operators that by the end of the month tendering process would have been completed and roads will definitely be maintained in the current financial year, and will take about 3 three years to complete them.

On the other hand, Roads Directorate Engineer Mr. Masoabi Malunga promised to visit the sides on Saturday, along side a delegation from both routes, and decide on which route to start with while waiting for procurement processes before carrying out fully maintenance.

However, Chairman of the route Mr. Tlali Kala expressed their disappointed in the Ministry, noting that operators wrote a letter to the Minister in 2024.

Mr. Kala said they had send a letter to the Ministry which later sent a delegation to inspect the situation which has since then been from bad to worse after rainy seasons, stating they have lost hope of getting any help. . . .
