LAWYERS LONG FOR BETTER BENEFITS

Maseru, April.14 — For the longest time in the country, practicing lawyers have been feeling ignored and abandoned by the Law Society Council.

This was said by Advocate Ts’ebeletso Motlohi as a practising Lawyer at an event held in Maseru on Friday where lawyers were tabling the challenges they meet on their everyday practising times.

Advocate Motloli indicated that there have never been any means to come to the aid of the welfare of lawyers despite practical facts facing lawyers’ death, financial literacy and or access to financial incentives such as loans.

She stated that the office of the Law Society has never been vacant but the welfare of the lawyers remains unnoticed.

Meanwhile, Advocate Fusi Sehapi as a contestant running for the Law Society Council Presidency mentioned that as the Law Society President in one ruling term, the Law Society of Lesotho will ensure that the socio-economic rights of its members are realised progressively by updated subscriptions, investments and otherwise.

He showed that all legal practitioners especially young ones will have access to affordable loans under an arranges guarantee of the Law Society of Lesotho.

He added that the Law Society will ensure that Foreign and Local Senior Legal Practitioners are paired with Junior Local Practitioners in all matters for social interaction, shared wealth and legal experience.

The elective conference towards the Law Society f Lesotho Presidency has been pending indefinitely.

The current President of the Law Society Lesotho remains as Advocate Maqakachane.
