Maseru, June 18 — One of the Correctional Officers, who is featured on the footage and seen active in assaulting two inmates denied it was him.
Correctional Officer Ratsetse is featured in a footage which shows how the late Bokang Tsoako and Seboka Motumi were brutally assaulted by Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) officers.
Ratsetse’s Lawyer told the Commission of Inquiry that it is not his client who is featured on the footage as he was off duty on December 22, 2023 although the second in charge of Maseru Central Correctional Institution, Senior Superintendent Leluma Mahlelebe who was told to identify officers featured on the footage insisted it was him.
However, the Commission of Inquiry Chairperson Justice Realeboha Mathaba warned Ratsetse’s lawyer that his client will be called to testify.
