Maseru, Feb. 01 — Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Ladies soccer team dominate senior national soccer team Mehalalitoe’s 26 local based players summoned by Coach Mr. Khojane Pule for a non-residential camp starting on Tuesday next week.

In the local based players announced by the Mehalalitoe Head Coach, Mr. Khojane this week, LDF Ladies have a total of ten players in Mamakhabane Makibinyane who is one of the three goalkeepers in the team.

Mr. Khojane also announced four defenders in Thato Mapepesa, T’soanelo Leboka, Bokang Ntsane and Ntsapi Khakanyo of the LDF players.

He also summoned Mosele Pita, Lerato Mphou from the same team who are midfielders plus strikers Phumzile Molefe, Nthabeleng Potsane and ‘Maseriti Mohlolo.

Other players summoned into the team for the non-residential camp are drawn from Berea Ladies (6), LMPS (4), Kic4LIFE (3) as well as one each from Lijabatho Ladies, Thaba Tseka Ladies and Rovers Ladies teams to make a total of 26 players.

LeFA Media Officer, Mr. Mikia Kalati said the Mehalalitoe technical team have their eyes on utilizing the February FIFA dates by playing a friendly match to test their squad, who have been active since the Women’s Super League season roared to life late last year.

In the 2023 edition of COSAFA Women’s senior national team, Mehalalitoe lost all group C games beginning with a 1-0 loss against Zimbabwe, before Botswana trouncing them 3-0 and wrapped up the group stages matches with a 2-0 loss against Namibia.

This meant that the Ladies from the mountain Kingdom will have to improve in this year’s edition of the cosafa Women’s national teams to avoid an early exit and to at least register a win and score goals.
