Mohale’s Hoek, Feb.14 — Laboratory Quality Control Manager at Lesotho Flour Mills Mrs. Lerato Kuoe, has on Wednesday stated that the is not producing enough wheat.
This transpired in the Wheat and Maize, Buyer/Seller meeting held with the purpose of enabling farmers to express their expectations from buyers and vice versa, where Mrs. Kuoe indicated that farmers should ensure that their grains are clean and are without fistle plant, jimson weed and weevil bugs as their presence could lead to price deterioration.
Mrs. Kuoe also noted that Lesotho does have laws which regulate prices of wheat, and they are currently using the ones from RSA, whereby 1 Ton of Wheat is sold at around M5,970.00, noting it is not a standard price as fluctuates on a daily basis. . .
