LESOTHO LAUNCHES YOMA PROGRAMME TO BOOST YOUTH DIGITAL SKILLS, EMPLOYABILITY 

Maseru, Nov. 26 — In efforts to address the overwhelming rates of unemployment, the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development, in partnership with UNICEF Lesotho, has launched the Youth Agency Marketplace (YOMA) programme in Maseru on Wednesday.

Held under the theme ‘Empowering Youth Through Digital Opportunity and Skills Development,’ the launch marked a significant step towards advancing digital skills and employability among young people in Lesotho.

In his keynote address, the Minister of Gender, Youth and Social Development, Mr. Pitso Lesaoana said that the introduction of YOMA demonstrates the government’s commitment to empowering young Basotho through innovative digital solutions.

He noted that the programme will help bridge gaps in access to skills development and economic opportunities.
