Maseru, Apr.19—At least two media personnel from two media houses in Lesotho are among the 30 taking part in a two-week seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and media development in developing countries in Beijing, China.
The seminar is hosted by the Research and Training Institute of National Radio and Television Administration (RTI of NRTA). It started on Tuesday and will end on April 28.
The countries participating include Lesotho, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Rwanda, Nigeria, Tanzania, the Caribbean; Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada, Europe; Uzbekistan, and Moldova.
Speaking in an interview, Ms. Mojabeng Hlao, Editor Newsroom Radio Lesotho and Ultimate Radio said so far, they have seen how China is using the AI in n health sector saying they visited Beijing South Central Axis International Culture and Technology Park to see how they produce medical equipment using AI as well as Beijing Institute of Artificial Intelligence to witness how AI is used in prediction of traffic and weather…AT/BM
