LESOTHO REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT FOR REFUGEES

Maseru, Oct.08—The Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police Mr. Lebona Lephema reaffirmed Lesotho’s commitment to boosting humanitarian and development support for refugees.

This he said when delivering a Statement on behalf of the Kingdom of Lesotho at the 76th Session of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner’s Programme (ExCom) held in Geneva, Switzerland.  

The Excom meets annually to review and approve the United Nations High Commission of Refugees Programmes and budget. 

The meeting serves as a critical platform for member states to report on the progress made on the strategies to reduce statelessness, strengthen protection on refugees and forced displaced persons…
