Maseru, Oct. 08—The Lesotho Senior National Team, Likuena have set up base in Polokwane ahead of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe respectively.
Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) Communications and Media Manager, Mr. Mikia Kalati said the Leslie Nots’i coached side is now at full strength after the arrival of South African (SA) based players such as captain Sekhoane Moerane, Thabo Makhele and Motebang Sera, who were in action in the Premier Soccer League over the weekend.
Kalati indicated that Likuena will take on the Super Eagles in the first of the two fixtures at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday at six O’Clock in the evening as the race to book a ticket to the global showpiece in North America goes to the wire.
Lesotho will play their final match of Group C against the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Monday next week, as the two Southern African countries renew their rivalry after Likuena drew first blood in the first leg encounter.
Likuena got into the two matches boasting three points by forfeit after the South African Football Association (SAFA) was found guilty of having fielded an ineligible player, Teboho Mokoena during the 2026 World Cup Qualifier between SA and Lesotho in March.
