EU HOLDS SECOND FILM FESTIVAL

Maseru, Oct.08—Following its successful debut in 2024, the second edition of binational European Union Film Festival (EUFF) 2025 is scheduled to take place in Lesotho from October 15 to November 10, offering audiences a diverse programme of European and African movies, alongside opportunities for cultural exchange.

In 2024, the EU delegations to the Kingdoms of Lesotho and Eswatini in partnership with Alliance Francaises de Maseru launched the first binational film festival.

This surfaced at the media briefing on Wednesday where the EU Ambassador Ms. Mette Sunnergren said EU has recognized that cultural relations is the cornerstone of development. She said the European Film Festival is a vibrant celebration of the EU’s dedication to cultivating cultural exchange and fostering mutual understanding through the evocative art of cinema.

“It is more than a showcase of cinema. It is a celebration of cultural connection. By bringing screenings to communities across Lesotho we are honouring the idea that stories told on screen can inspire understanding, creativity and friendship”, she said.
