LESOTHO, SA HOLD BORDER BILATERAL WORKSHOP

Maseru, Feb. 15 — The country of Lesotho is reported to be undergoing reforms which include modernization of customs procedures and other related services for trading seamlessly across our borders.

This was said by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Small Business development Mr. Mokhethi Shelile while officially opening the two day Lesotho, South Africa bilateral border coordination workshop which is hosted in Lesotho from Thursday.

In his remarks, Mr. Shelile said that as a landlocked country, Lesotho is also implementing the National Single Window which, at its full implementation in the next few years, will significantly improve border operations.

He indicated that this workshop comes at an opportune time and should be used to harmonize the trade processes and align systems in a manner that will enable the respective regulators to still do their work while at the same time ensuring that there are no obstacles relating to import and export of goods and services.
