LET’S PUT ABC ABOVE OUR PERSONAL ASPIRATIONS – MOSITO

Maseru, April 15 — One of the candidates for the position of All Basotho Convention (ABC)’s Communication Secretary, Mr. Lekhetho Mosito has called on the new National Executive Committee (NEC) elected over the weekend to strive to put the party above their personal aspirations.

Mr. Mosito told the Agency in a telephone interview that he conceded defeat and that he is calling to the new leadership to strive for peace and unity within the members.

He confessed that he was concerned leading up to the elective conference that it would be the beginning of troubles within the ABC, but expressed satisfaction that things went smoothly without any significant challenges.

Mr. Mosito however believe that his candidacy could have been negatively affected by initial removal of his name and three others in the list of candidates for not meeting the party’s constitution requirements.

“Our names were removed from the list of candidates through the circular that was issued a few days before the elective conference and that alone could have had a negative impact on our chances of winning the elections but I personally have accepted the results since the ABC delegates have spoken,” he commented.

Mr. Mosito together with Mr. Moahloli Mphaka, Ms Kefeletsoe Mojela and Mr. Katleho Molelle were removed from the candidates list for not meeting the party’s constitution sections and were reinstated after the intervention of the courts of law after successfully challenging their removal.

The newly elected ABC National Executive Committee which is led by the party leader, Mr. Nkaku Kabi include Mr. Samonyane Ntsekele who was elected the Deputy Leader, Mr. Thebe Mokoatle as Secretary General.

Other NEC members elected at the same elective conference include Mr. Ts’olo Khechane as Deputy Secretary General, Conference Chairperson is Mr. Kemiso Mosenene and his Deputy is Mr. Ts’ehlo Ramarou.

Treasurer is Mr. Thobileng Teboho and the party’s Communication Secretary is Mr. Mphonyane Lebesa and his Deputy is Mr. Tséliso Lerata, while Secretary is Ms. Koenehelo Mothala who is the only female in this committee.
