LHWP TREATY REQUIRES TO BE REVISITED – PM

Mokhotlong March 22 — Lesotho’s Prime Minister (PM) Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane says the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) Treaty needs to be revisited by the both Lesotho and South Africa governments.

Mr. Matekane said this in his remarks after the site visit of the LHWP II Project in Polihali, Mokhotlong on Friday.

He said review of the Treaty that was signed by both countries 38 years ago is long overdue and highlighted that it was supposed to have been revisited after every 12 years, and that has never happened.
