MAKANYANENG COMMUNITY REHABILITATE THEIR SPRING

Thaba Tseka Oct 17 — In preparation for the anticipated drought in the coming months, the Makanyaneng community has rehabilitated their spring which is along the main road to Mokhotlong.

Speaking with one of the community members who took part in the exercise, Mr. Teboho Lipeisi said after a public gathering that was held at their village last week by the District Disaster Management Team (DDMT), they saw the need to rehabilitate their water sources so that they do not suffer if drought hit.

He said that spring is one of the oldest reliable springs which during hard times does not go dry. He said it covers the whole village as well as their livestock.

Mr. Lipeisi said they had contributed money to buy cement to be used to build the spring and they had also collected sand to be used for the refurbishment of the spring while labour was provided by the local men and women in that village.
