MAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGAL GUN POSSESSION PAYS FINE

Qacha’s Nek, Oct.13 — Mr. Samkelo Tekisi, a 38-year-old man of Qabane, Khomomg has paid a M1000.00 fine after he was found guilty in a case of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Mr. Tekisi was sentenced to a one year imprisonment with an option of a fine.

The case was before Magistrate Ts’eliso Bale and the Public Prosecutor Tsotang Maile.

Cases of unlawful possession of firearms are prevalent in the country. However, the police recently investigated all gun licences in Lesotho.
