Quthing, Oct. 30 — A 44 year-old from Ha Lekhotso in Quthing has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment without an opinion of a fine after being found guilty of raping a 16 year-old girl by the Quthing Magistrate Court.
According to the evidence before court, the convict Lisema Mothabeng raped the victim who is his step-daughter several times since 2019 when the victim was 11 years.
Evidence said that the convict started to rape the victim who is currently in grade eight (8) at a local high in 2019 when her mother had gone to a family traditional feast at a nearby village.
Evidence showed that the victim reported the matter to her mother who talked to the convict to stop raping the victim and she further told the victim not to tell anyone about the case promising her that it will never happen again as she has talked to the step-father.
