MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES POSE THREAD TO CROP PRODUCTION- MOSIUOA

Mafeteng, August 02 — The Consultant in In Impact of Climate Change on Food Security and Nutrition Ms. Bonang Mosiuoa says change in monthly maximum value of daily temperatures and changes in the intensity of rainfall in Southern Region district  poses thread to both crops and livestock thus affecting life of human beings negatively.

She made the remarks during a two Day-Training on Postharvest Loss Situational Assessment in Lesotho held in the district from  Wednesday to Thursday where she said  even the length of the growing seasons  also affect food insecurity.

Ms. Mosiuoa indicated that since most of farmers in Southern Region and other parts of the country rely on rainfall for crop production their yield is going to be low as a result of late  rainfalls which are going to be decreased with six percent. . .
