Botha-Bothe, Dec. 09 — Lin Shuangkui (52) of Manamela and Mahlathene Chabalala (51) of Baroeng today appeared before the Botha-Bothe Magistrate Court charged with illegally importing alcohol into Lesotho.
According to the charge sheet, the two allegedly brought into the country through the Caledonspoort border post a consignment of Carling Black Label (308 cases and 10 cases of dumpies) and Castle Lager (180 cases) without the required permits.
They are charged with contravening Section 44 read with Section 43(1) of the Liquor Licensing Act No. 8 of 1998, which regulates the importation and distribution of alcoholic beverages in Lesotho.
The pair was remanded to appear again before court on December 30, 2025.
On the other hand, Sakia Lepolesa of ‘Moteng has appeared before the Magistrate on account of sexually harassing a 19 year old girl Mats’eliso Jeremane.
The accused is said to have raped the victim on September 12 by having sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The accused will appear again on February 16, 2025 for a set down.
