MISSING CHILDREN’S CASES ESCALATES

Maseru, Aug.21 — The body of a 13-year-old boy Reamohetse Moorosi was found dead by the community of Ha Bosofo Mafikaneng in the early hours of Monday.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency, the Spokesperson for Ha Bosofo village Mr. Matingoe Mohapi stated that the boy was found by school children who then informed the villagers.

He showed that on inspection by the village men before the arrival of the Police, they discovered that the boy had no signs of assault though his clothes and shoes were wet.

He indicated that one other issue that was recognised on the body of the deceased was foam that had been produced from his mouth which he said they suspect he had been struggled as also at the scene there were traces that showed that the body had been dragged to where it was dumped.

Mr. Mohapi showed that this is the first time in the longest time that such an incident had happened in his village adding that such acts tarnish the reputation of his village.

While giving his side on this incident, the father of the deceased Mr. Moorosi Moorosi of Ha Seleso showed that the deceased was reported missing upon his arrival at around midnight on Sunday when he returned home adding that he went on search for him at one of his neighbours.

Mr. Moorosi mentioned that he had spotted the deceased at a rally which was held at Khubelu on Sunday.

He however showed that the distance between the two places which the boy lived in and where he was found is vast which made him have a lot of questions on what really happened that led to the death of his child.

According to Mr. Moorosi, the deceased was autistic.

The Lesotho Mounted Police Service through the Assistant Public Relations officer Inspector ‘Mareabetsoe Mofoka, there had previously been less than 5 cases of children who had been reported missing and later discovered dead.
