Mohale’s Hoek. Sept. 26 — Majority of initiates who attended a workshop facilitated by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts, and Culture, have recommended that as primary custodians and protectors of customs at an initiation school and related custom, chiefs should be initiated.
This transpired in a one-day Workshop on Protection and Administration Of Traditional School and Other Related Matters Draft Instructions, held for representation of Principal and area chiefs, traditional doctors, Principal instructors (Mesuoe) from Mafeteng, Quthing and Mohale’s Hoek respectively.
In an interview with the Agency, the Ministry’s Director Mrs, ‘Mats’osane Ts’osane, stated that the aim of the workshop is to collect points of views form the aforementioned groups on issues pertaining to initiation schools, and enhance the Protection And Administration of Custom At Initiation Schools Bill 2022, enacted by the Parliament of Lesotho. . .
