Mokhotlong, Sept. 22 — Mokhotlong community living in different parts of the district woke up on moderate to heavy snow on Saturday.
One of the Lesotho Meteorology Service employees in the district, Mr. Mohlalefi Khusu said the snowfall measured 12 centimeters at the weather station this morning and that indicated it is moderate to heavy.
Places like Sani Top started to experience snowfall since last Thursday while other places including Mokhotlong town, Malefiloane and others, snowfall began from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning and up to now.
The District Disaster Management Officer in Mokhotlong, Mr. Sekake Thamae said even though the office has not yet received confirmed reports of people trapped by snow particularly herders, there is a concern and high posibility that they might be trapped if the snowfall already experienced can escalate…
